Raged metal onslaught of swift tempos of progressive guitar works KIUAS completes an ultimate rush of progressive thrash metal so unlike what the promotional sheet labels the bands music. I think Death Metal is an understatement due to the fact that KIUAS current material The Spirit Of Ukko touches some of the basics of slight death metal but all means that band is more of a fit of progressive thrash. Nonetheless this bunch of Finnish gents create some interesting musical forms of fast and furious guitar speeds more in the vein of early metal heroes of Dream Theatre and countless others. Vocalist Ilja Jalkanen adds his powerfully smooth style to KIUAS but one thing I find it hard to listen to for the songs are repetitive and after the first three songs I am wondering who one can stomach this music?

Guitar whaling with intricate soloing, keyboards adding slight flair the main song highlights would have to be the music itself of tracks Warrior Soul and And The North Star Cried. Recording is great but the major downfall is the kind of vocal harmonies that
don’t fit well but the attempt to writing something within the Death Metal atmosphere I say leave it to the extreme metal field to do that. Entire band as a whole sounds more like a washed version of Russia’s own Mechanical Poet! I say do progressive thrash and not attempt death metal! Stagnate and overbearingly boring.
